In Q2 2022, Italy's top navigation and maps apps on iOS exhibited diverse performance metrics across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a detailed look at how these apps fared based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps maintained a strong presence with a notable fluctuation in weekly downloads. Starting the quarter with approximately 55K downloads, the app saw a peak of about 78K in early April, followed by a dip mid-quarter, and then an upward trend reaching around 69K by the end of June. Weekly active users steadily increased from 7.2M to 8.3M over the quarter.

Google Earth experienced a declining trend in downloads, beginning with about 43K and dropping to around 9K by the end of June. Active users remained relatively stable, starting at 86K and ending the quarter at approximately 90K.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a moderate increase in downloads, starting at around 7.5K and ending at 10.6K. Active users showed a slight fluctuation, beginning the quarter at roughly 502K, peaking at 642K by the end of June.

TomTom GO Navigation experienced a significant surge in revenue, peaking at approximately $7K in late April. Downloads were highest in mid-April at 3.2K before stabilizing around 2K towards the end of June. Active users also showed a gradual increase, starting at around 3.4K and reaching about 5K by the end of the quarter.

Revenue saw a notable increase, reaching around $1.4K in late June. Active users also surged, from 1K at the beginning of the quarter to approximately 3.7K by the end of June.
